Located 3 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip on along West Tropicana Avenue, the Charlie Frias Regional Park is an 80-acre park development on a site that features a 30’ deep channel where the Lower Flamingo Wash flows between protruding bluffs. Constructed within a 100-year flood basin, the development includes a 32-acre park, butterfly garden, 2 playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, fitness areas, dog park, twelve acres of multi-use athletic fields, a jogging track and a 4,000 s.f. maintenance building. Gabion walls were integrated to provide additional architectural character at prominent areas. The design team worked closely with US Bureau of Land Management in preserving and protecting rare and endangered plant species on the site.
