The First United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights recently completed phase one of their master plan: a renovation and re-orientation of the church’s existing sanctuary. Removing a balcony allowed JNKA to turn a previously-obscured stained glass wall into a highlight and use it as a back-drop for a new chancel. The project incorporated new lighting, altar furnishings, audio-video systems, and life-safety improvements such as fire suppression and improved exiting.
Planned future phases include a 4,000 sf Gathering Space addition, a 12,000 sf multi-purpose Family Life Center addition, and an addition and renovation to the church’s pre-school and Christian education wing.
