Knox Presbyterian Church, Naperville, IL

To increase worship seating capacity to 575 people, the original sanctuary built in 1963 was demolished and a new sanctuary with a fan shaped seating arrangement was added. Accessiblity was greatly improved by constructing the new addition at the same floor elevation as the original gymnasium, kitchen, and fellowship spaces. The new main entrance with a carport provides for easy visitor drop off. The Commons adjacent to the worship space improves circulation throughout the facility and provides a gathering space for the congregation before and after services. Extensive remodeling was done throughout the campus including interior finishes, air conditioning and and life safety improvements. The church operations remained in operation throughout the entire construction period.
