About This Project

JNKA has been serving Holy Name Cathedral Parish for more than ten years in master planning and executing a series of projects, including this recent renovation of the courtyard and construction of a new Marian Shrine. The devotional shrine housing a new statue of the Blessed Mother was designed to mirror the detailing of the historic cathedral while providing an exterior space for private prayer. The courtyard utilizes a combination of permeable and memorial pavers that meet stringent storm-water management requirements. As part of the project the side entrance to the cathedral was re-designed to provide handicap accessibility with unobstructed views to the courtyard. New landscaping, exterior lighting, and a mediation garden were also integrated with the design.
