About This Project

The design for renovations and additions to Bethlehem Lutheran Church addressed a wide range of the church’s long-standing facility needs while providing a greater sense of welcoming, hospitality, and unity within the large 3-story building.

A new exterior canopy, vestibule addition and interior lift provide a more recognizable, inviting, and handicap accessible main entrance from the front parking lot to the main level of the church.

Two small gathering spaces accessed from the main entrance were expanded with a 2nd building addition and conversion of 3 existing office spaces to create a much larger and centralized gathering space with a variety of seating areas, coffee bar, and exterior roof terrace. This 2-story addition also provided new lower-level restrooms for the Contemporary Worship space and a new exterior entrance from the lower-level parking lot at the back of the church.

Handicap access was provided to all 5 levels of the 3-story building with a new elevator addition near the existing Narthex and 2 handicap lifts. New handicap accessible restrooms were provided on the 3 primary floor levels and the existing restrooms were remodeled.

Additional improvements include new exterior windows; replacing old asphalt shingle roofs with faux slate roofing and new metal facias, gutters and downspouts; new interior finishes; new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems; and a new sprinkler system in the original Sanctuary.
