Wheaton Academy Warrior Dome, West Chicago, IL

This is a new 47,000 sf addition to the existing Warrior Dome (Competitive Gym) for Wheaton Academy, a Christian high school in the western suburbs of Chicago. The new field house addition includes three basketball courts and below the field house, new classrooms, offices, wrestling room, dance studio, weight room and locker rooms were added. The link between the new and existing buildings accommodates an entry atrium, concessions, and rest room to serve the existing 11,000 sf competition level gymnasium, which was completely renovated. The site slopes towards the south to the outdoor playing fields allowing an entrance for the athletes to the south, and a main entrance for the general public on the north of the building.
